COSTUME SHOP MANAGER/STITCHER
Start Date: May 19, 2024
End Date: September 3, 2024
Travel Dates: On or around May 18 & September 4, 2024
Compensation: $4,800 for 15 weeks + travel, room, and all meals
Reports to: Production Manager and Artistic Director

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
•Set up, organize, and manage all aspects of the Barn’s brand-new costume shop for the 2023 Summer season.
•Working with multiple designers, participate in the construction, pulling, fittings, and strikes for all main stage productions,
•Collaborating with the Wardrobe Supervisor and Designer for the transition to tech rehearsals and performances.
•Schedule costume and wig fittings, rehearsal items, and notes with Stage Management in accordance with Equity rules.
•In conjunction with the Production Manager, track and maintain multiple budgets to ensure that all shows and notes are completed in a timely manner.
•Costume Design is a plus. Shop Manager may have design opportunities.
•Supervision of Costume Interns and Acting Interns working in the Costume Shop.
•Attend and participate in production meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS
•Proficiency in costume construction and modification techniques.
• Excellent managerial skills and leadership qualities while working on multiple shows at once.
• Ability to follow health and safety standards.
• Must be able to climb stairs, stand, and kneel for extended periods of time, and be able to lift twenty pounds, while working backstage effectively in a low-light environment.
• Driver's license preferred but not required.
